Land Between the Lakes is a 170,000 acre recreation area that lies between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.
Just a short drive from Fish Island is the elk and bison prairie. This 3.5 mile paved route lets you get up close and personal with live elk and bison.
See a real Kentucky wildcat, live wolves, owls, snakes, turtles, and all kinds of wildlife at the Nature Station. A short scenic drive from Fish Island and well worth it!
Life "between the rivers" wasn't easy in the 1850's! This working farm lets you take a step back in time and experience life the way it used to be.
Bring your own or rent a horse at Wrangler's. Featuring more trails here than your backside can stand!

This easy, mostly flat, hiking trail makes a loop around historic Hematite Lake. One of the best kept secrets in LBL. It's right next to the Nature Station. Hematite + Nature Station = tired kiddos!
Lake Barkley offers some of the best fishing around! 58,000 acres of fresh water fishing.
Fish Island Resort is located a few short minutes from Boots Randolph Golf Course. Actually, we're closer to the course than the lodge is! Golf Adviser rates it at 4.3 out of 5!
